An impressive thread of praise and worship runs through the career of Michael W. Smith. After all, he’s penned two of today’s finest modern praise songs (“Great Is the Lord” and “Agnus Dei”), and he was the creative genius behind Exodus, a brilliant collection of worship material. Yet that same artistic spirit seems sadly lacking on Worship, Smith’s first solely praise and worship release. All parts are assembled, with Smith on vocals and keyboards, and an all-star choir of Amy Grant, Phillips, Craig & Dean, Chris Rice, Cindy Morgan, and others backing him on this live release. But outside of a few selected tracks (“Let It Rain” and “Draw Me Close”), Worship falls flat. Smith’s decision to cover the day’s most popular p… More >>

This alumb is stupid! MWS has no right to make this alumb! On this album he is using his religion to get to richer than he already is, he already has enough money to get that manison he lives in. He also made it because he knows his fans are like sheep that they will follow him to the ends of the earth and buy anything that has his name attached to it.

THIS ALBUM IS AS GOOD AS A PEACH DANCING WITH A CARROT. TERRRRRRRRRRRRRIBLE.

I was so depressed after one listening of this that I put a hammer through my stereo. An unwise move in retrospect, but I did it, and I’m not looking back! You hear me? NEVER!
As a Christian album, it fails at every turn. As an exercise in psychological torture, kudos Mr.Smith, you’ve pithed me beyond repair.

I can’t believe Michael W. Smith would allow something like this out with his name on it. If you are a devoted fan, the last 2 songs are worth having–the rest of the album is poorly recorded background music. This could be any singer. “Michael, what happened?!” Very disappointing.

Adoration: The Worship Album by the Newsboys is a better Album. Even for those who prefer Michael W. Smith over the Newsboys. Many Newsboys fans Adoration may find the album does not rock enough. The songs in adoration come closer to Michael W Smith’s this is the time. My favorite song in Adoration: “It is You”.
My pet peave in Michael W. Smiths worship album is the use of the chorus of Awesome God. My Church does the same thing as Michael W. Smith does in this album. He sings only the chorus of Awesome God. Actually I only saw a concert on TV where only the chorus was song. This song is familiar to us. At least the chorus is familiar. It is a shame most of us are not as familiar and able to sing the two verses of the song. The chorus provides a way to praise God and give adulation. The verses define the reason we should give the adulation to God. Therefore more urgency and purpose to the adulation. Sure the chorus tells the listener God reigns. But what does that mean? God reigned when He kicked Adam and Eve out of Eden. God reigned when he showed judgment and wrath against Sodom. The song gives but two examples, but these should be a reminder: God does not tolerate sin. When it is phrased “it was not for no reason He shed his Blood”. The cross itself should be a reminder of your sin and how God judges sin. That mercy and grace could not be given except by such high a price. The song talks of the second coming and the need to believe. That there is an urgency to believe and not to forget who God is. Get Rich Mullins album titled Songs, before you get Michael W. Smiths worship album. Hear the whole awesome song about our awesome God.
