….But surely they didn’t. Nearly all of the songs on here are overplayed trash; I haven’t even heard of half of these artists! The only song I like here is Need You Now, and that’s starting to get annoying already. I actually miss the early editions of “Now”, when the music on it was good.
(and P.S., I would’ve given this 3 stars, but Kesha’s “Tik Tok” knocked one star off, worst song ever made!!)
Rating: 2 / 5
Today is the release of the U.S. version of Now Music series for the 33rd volume installment. But when I finished listening to it. It may got various edits that never heard it on the radio, but I wasn’t impress to see that many since Now 31. Anyways, the last 5 new artists bonus tracks are very convent, but few short hit tracks are missing on the album like Black Eyed Peas, Shinedown, Justin Bieber, and etc. Here’s my track-by-track review of each song.
1. Ke$ha – Tik Tok 9/10
This song makes you to have a party all day and nite. It’s very fun to listen to, but it keeps me annoyed from this track. Although it made #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts for 9 weeks on a row.
2. Lady GaGa – Bad Romance 10/10
I love this song to death. She made a dark version of Poker Face into a horrible love affair hit. I know this song very much, but the problem is that this track is radio edit and leaves the b word on it. If your so scare for this edited track, I think you should buy the full version on iTunes and amazon mp3 instead. Overall, amazing song.
3. Rihanna feat. Jeezy – Hard 9/10
This track is good. Great for working on a gym at least.
4. Jason DeRulo – In My Head 10/10
This is my 2nd favorite song from Jason DeRulo. He made this track a hit that let the beat moves.
5. Snoop Dogg – I Wanna Rock 8.5/10
Great track. I feel the “It Takes Two” vibe on it.
6. Young Money feat. Lloyd – BedRock 7.5/10
Personally, I do like this song, but it’s getting crazy to listen to. However, it got many edits from this track and I highly recommend to buy the less clean version on iTunes instead. Overall, good song.
7. Jay Sean feat. Sean Paul – Do You Remember 8/10
This track is good but, the problem is there’s no Lil Jon verse on it. Be careful to listen it. You may heard it on the radio many times with this version.
8. Iyaz – Replay 9/10
Love this song. No comments
9. Owl City – Fireflies 10/10
Amazing song from Adam Young (aka. Owl City). It gives this track that you are a little child playing fireflies all over again. It gives an electro beat that you heard this song beautifully to listen. Overall, excellent choice for Now Music series.
10. Train – Hey, Soul Sister 10/10
My 3rd favorite track form this album. Train gives this track to paradise. Similar to Jason Mraz hit song “I’m Yours”, This will make your day a better life that makes you smile all day.
11. Daughtry – Life After You 9/10
Great track form Daughtry. Although this song made Platinum last week.
12. Kris Allen – Live Like We’re Dying 9/10
Orginally written by The Script (on a bonus Japanese track), American Idol Season 8 winner, Kris Allen gives this tune a happy moment.
13. Adam Lambert – Whataya Want From Me 9/10
American Idol season 8 runner-up, Adam Lambert released his second single after an unpredictable performance on the AMAs last year. This track tells how his life gone wrong. Originally written by Pink and Max Martin (form Funhouse, but never made the cut) gives this track, a magnificent hit single that Adam done it before.
14. Orianthi – According To You 9/10
This guitarist and a singer (from Michael Jackson’s This Is It Rehearsal performance) gives her a new start for her. This song shows how she made her life miserable and makes fun of it. Overall, I think she is a great singer but I hope she made a perfect career for the future.
15. Lady Antebellum – Need You Now 10/10
This #1 country hit and #2 Hot 100 single makes this track a hit. This song tells how the relationship gone wrong and makes their life back to normal again. Lady A done a great job for this track and they deserved to add this album.
16. Taylor Swift – Fearless 8/10
Form her latest 2nd album, Taylor gives her dreams to everyone who are trying new things in her life. Although this track made on the chart since 2008, Taylor deserves to be fearless country singer ever.
Now What’s Next Bonus Tracks:
17. Ashlyne Huff – Heart Of Gold 8/10
Great track. I’m impress that I listened to it.
18. Jamie Cullum – Wheels 7/10
This English jazz-pop singer gives the smooth tune of this track. Although, it’s a good track but I wasn’t a good hit from him. Overall, it’s an “Ok” track for me.
19. Jaicko – Fast Forward 8/10
Good track. But I want to make this track a close hit with close beats on it. Overall, nice track.
20. Young & Divine – Shake That Bubble 7.5/10
Although I heard this song on YouTube earlier and gives this track excitement. Compare to Metro Station, Cobra Starship and Honor Society, this pop-rock band gives this track a spin of excitement. Overall, a good track.
21. Agnes – Release Me 9.5/10
This is the best song that I ever head in years. Released in Sweden 2007 and UK last year, this track gives the sound of Leona Lewis into a dance beat hit. It made this song #1 on Billboard Dance Club track on Fall 2009 and makes the crowd go wild. I hope her album will release soon in the future. This track is a hit.
Album Overall: 3/5
The album is a 50-50 hit. Average hits on the radio and average songs that never heard before. This album needs to step for the U.S. Now Music Series. I hope it will come back for the original 20 hit track back where it belong than the new one. Overall, it’s a good album for me.
Rating: 3 / 5
Overall, good list of song if you are missing some songs you could not resist to purchase earlier.
I would probably title this — Past 33. Let’s hope the next Now is current with 34 current hits.
Rating: 3 / 5
I’m around my grandkids alot. When were driving around and the radio or CD is on, we take turns so everyone gets to listen to their kind of music. This CD is great because it helps me become more familiar with the different artists and style of music. They think I’m cool. For grandparents you can listen to a wide variety, instead of a whole CD of just one artist. I’d recommend this CD to you.
Rating: 3 / 5
For this latest edition in the series, this volume only features sixteen current hits with the remaining five tracks coming from new artists. The booklet contains a little background information on these new artists and unlike previous volumes, there are no bonus downloads. This may not be as good as NOW albums of the past but there are some good songs to be found here. Here are the peak positions of the current songs on the Billboard Hot 100.
