of course luda lyrically brings it but some of the beats are too generic and uninspiring. i like luda and he gets better lyrically and flow wise on every cd but to me the subject isnt even consistent. i thought it would be a girl rappin on every song but it aint. still a solid effort but comparing it to theatre of mind…. eeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhh nope!

Luda is by far the most consistent MC out there as far as major label acts are concerned. The man is an accomplished lyricist and he’s entertaining beyond most rap artists period. He understands that it’s show business. He also understands that albums can stand on their own as concepts. Theatre of The Mind and Battle of The Sexes are two examples of an artist going beyond just some beats and some raps. This album get 5 stars because Luda is a 5 star entertainer. You young cats need to learn from this dude. This is how it’s done. And Bill O’Reilly really likes Luda. He just can’t admit it.

This cd was supposed to be a joint album with Ludacris and former lable mate and friend Shawnna which is why it was called battle of the sexes. Well for whatever reason Shawnna left DTP Records and signed with “Nappy boy” T-Pains record lable. I don’t know what on earth makes her think that was in anyway a good career move but anyway. She is fet. on some tracks on this album but I can tell they cut her off some of them too. Ludacris shows up and handels his biz as usual. He is a great artist and has a unique style and delivery and great lyrics and punchlines. However the fallout here is the album was revamped and made into a Ludacris “solo” album and that was just a bad move he should have found another female rapper to fully replace Shawnna or just scrapped it all together. The album has it’s ups and downs most of it is bangin but when it hits its lows its really bad. I had it on bootlegg but purchased anyway bc I have every cd DTP ever dropped. If your a fan you will like.

Ludacris is the most creative, lyrically talented, most entertaining and most humorous rappers of all time and his last album “Theater of the Mind” was great and it’s one of his best albums, and best album I bought in 2008-2009 and or pretty much one of the best hip-hop albums I bought in this decade along with Kanye’s album. Along with 2pac, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Outkast, UGK, Lupe Fiasco, Scarface, Nas and Common, Ludacris is my favorite rapper of all time; however, this album “Battle of the Sexes” , is his worst album! It has like 4 songs on it I like. I can understand if some of the songs were like this but not the entire album. This album appeals to the younger crowd and he stayed relevant to the garbage hip-hop/r’b that’s in today’s generation. I just hope his next album, “Ludaversal” is more like “Release Therapy” and “Theater of the Mind”

This cd is a banger from top to bottom! Luda gives us club bangers, slow songs, anthems, etc. But here is the deep thing. Luda’s standard has been set so high that all most people do is come on here and compare this cd to his others. Any real hip hop head can tell u that this is a very solid effort. I guess this is the price you pay when you’re one of the BEST!!
